Public Forum Topic (February) (4 Qualifiers): Resolved: Birthright citizenship should be abolished in the United States.
LD Topic (March/April) (7 Qualifiers): Resolved: Targeted killing is a morally permissible foreign policy tool.
Policy Topic (5 Qualifiers): Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its exploration and/or development of space beyond the Earth’s mesosphere.
Parliamentary Topic (4
Qualifiers): Announced 20 minutes before each round.
Entries: Only students who have completed a TCFL
Open Tournament or Congress during the ‘11-'12 season may enter as well
as schools
that have paid their CHSSA Dues.
Fees: $30 per Policy, PoFo and Parli Teams, $15 per
Lincoln-Douglas. Each school is limited to 7 entries in LD and 4
entries in all team events. Make check payable to TVFL.
Judges: Each school
is obligated to provide one experienced judge per every 2 Teams*, and one experienced judge per every 3
Lincoln Douglas entries* (*or fraction thereof). All required judges must be available to judge one
round passed their commitment.
Deadline: All entries must be e-mailed no later than Tuesday, February 21, 2012, by 10pm. *Also, it’s imperative that you rank your entries and give me the names of the competitors. Please send email to jrobin9812@sbcglobal.net.

This is a tentative schedule that depends on entries. Each category can be run separately which means Parli and PoFo could run every hour and a half and LD can be single flighted at any time. Also, there is a chance some categories could go past 7 rounds.** Note: Food will be sold between rounds. Do not leave the campus.
Because of the differences that exist in human perception, a subjective quality is present in the scoring of Speech and Debate rounds. Even with rules and evaluation criteria for guidance, judges will not evaluate the same performance in an identical manner. While we do everything possible to maintain consistency in scoring, winning results are not guaranteed.
