Fees: $20 per LD, $40 per Team & TCFL Dues if this is your first TCFL Tournament of the season. Make checks payable to Tri-County Forensic league.

Tentative Schedule

8:00 - 8:30 Registration (coaches & judges)

8:30 - 9:30 Judge Orientation

9:30 - 11:30 Rd I

11:30 - 1:30 Rd II

1:30 - 2:00 Lunch Break (For student concessions we plan on having donuts, hot chocolate, etc. in the morning, and cup o noodles, pizza, soda, chips, etc. for lunch.)

2:00 - 4:00 Rd III (Hi-Low Power Match)

Debate Topics:

Policy topic:
"Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity."

Sept./Oct. LD topic:
"Resolved: The United States ought to implement a single-payer universal healthcare system."
Sept./Oct. Public Forum Debate Topic:
"Resolved: The United States Federal Government should substantially increase its investment in high-speed rail."

Parli topics displayed 20 minutes before round.

Judges: Each school is obligated to provide one qualified judge per every 2 Policy, Parli, & Pofo teams,* and one qualified judge per every 4 LD entries.* If your judging quota is not met, your entries may be dropped. Judges should have pens & flow pads.

Because of the differences that exist in human perception, a subjective quality is present in the scoring of Speech and Debate rounds. Even with rules and evaluation criteria for guidance, judges will not evaluate the same performance in an identical manner. While we do everything possible to maintain consistency in scoring, winning results are not guaranteed.
